  1. The Hanuman Chalisa is a 40-verse devotional hymn dedicated to Lord Hanuman, composed by the poet-saint Tulsidas in the 16th century. Written in Awadhi, a dialect of Hindi, it glorifies the strength, wisdom, and devotion of Hanuman, the mighty servant of Lord Rama. Each verse praises Hanuman's virtues, recounting his heroic deeds in the Ramayana, such as leaping across the ocean, burning Lanka, and bringing the Sanjeevani herb to save Lakshmana's life.
